MDPI Connects with the Global Remote Sensing Community at ISPRS 2026

Earlier this July, the MDPI team participated in the ISPRS 2026 Congress in Toronto, Canada, joining editors, researchers, and innovators from around the world to explore the latest developments in remote sensing, geospatial science, and Earth observation.

During the Congress, CEO Stefan Tochev, together with Diana Tosato, Andy Tran, Carla Aloè, and Yuna Duan, connected with scholars, members of the Remote Sensing Editorial Board, and the broader remote sensing and geospatial research community. Throughout the event, the MDPI booth welcomed attendees for discussions on research, publishing, and open access.

The Congress also provided an opportunity for the Remote Sensing Editorial Board to convene for a meeting chaired by Section Editor-in-Chief Prof. Jie Shan. Bringing together more than 10 Editorial Board members, the meeting focused on the journal's strategic priorities, publication quality, future development, and continued impact on the research community.

In addition, the ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information (IJGI) Editorial Board met under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kainz. Editorial Board members, ISPRS Council members, and colleagues joining virtually reflected on the journal's progress while exchanging ideas on future directions and opportunities for continued growth.

MDPI extends its thanks to ISPRS and everyone who visited the booth throughout the Congress. The event provided valuable opportunities to strengthen existing collaborations, establish new connections, and engage with the global remote sensing and geospatial community.
